1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the website owner.
Cookies allow a website to recognise your device, remember your preferences, and understand how you interact with the site. They do not contain personal information such as your name or email address unless you have provided that information to the website.
2. What This Website Stores on Your Device
This website does not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics service. It sets one cookie of its own, which remembers the choices you make in our cookie banner, and it keeps two small pieces of information in your browser's own storage. Those two stay on your device and are not sent to anyone until you choose to send us an enquiry. Advertising cookies from Google are covered separately in section 3.
| Name | Where | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| rr_consent | Cookie | Strictly necessary. Remembers whether you said yes or no to analytics storage and to advertising cookies, and when you chose, so that this website loads only what you agreed to and does not ask you again on every page. It is set when you make a choice in the banner and holds nothing that identifies you. Like any cookie, your browser sends it back to this website with each page you open. | 180 days (about 6 months), after which we ask you again |
| rr_journey | Session storage | Keeps a note of the pages you visit during this browsing session and roughly how long you spend on each, the page you arrived on, the site that referred you, any campaign tags in the link you followed and basic facts about your device (screen size, browser, language and time zone), so that your enquiry can tell us how you found us. Sent to us only when you submit a form. | Deleted when you close the browser tab |
| rr_visits | Local storage | A count of your visits and the date of your first and most recent visit. Written only if you switch on Analytics in our cookie banner (Accept All Cookies includes it), and sent to us only as part of the record of your visit when you submit a form. | Until you switch Analytics off or clear your browser data |
When you tap or click one of our phone numbers, your browser sends us an anonymous count of that tap: the page you were on, where on the page the number was, whether you were using a phone, tablet or computer, and the website that sent you to that page. This uses no cookie and stores nothing on your device, and we do not keep your IP address or any identifier with it. We have counted taps this way since 13 October 2026.
How we use the record of your visit is explained in section 3 of our Privacy Policy.
3. Advertising Cookies
We advertise on Google. To see which of our adverts lead people to send us an enquiry or ring us, we use Google Ads conversion measurement, which works through a piece of Google code called the Google tag. We use it for that measurement only: our tag tells Google that ad personalisation is switched off, and Google says that with this setting its remarketing and personalised advertising features receive no data.
This is switched off until you agree to it. Until you choose Accept All Cookies in our cookie banner, or switch on Advertising under Cookie Settings and save, the Google tag is not loaded, no advertising cookie is set and nothing at all is sent to Google Ads.
Once you agree, the Google tag loads on each page you open and stores the items below on this website's own domain. The cookies are the ones Google lists for Google Ads in its own cookie reference. Only _gcl_au and _gcl_ls are stored for everyone who agrees; the other cookies hold details of a Google ad click and are set only when you arrive through a link from a Google ad.
| Name | Where | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au | Cookie | A unique identifier for your browser, which lets Google connect your visit to an enquiry or phone tap that follows it. | 90 days |
| _gcl_aw | Cookie | The click identifier from the Google ad you followed (the gclid added to the link), so that an enquiry or phone tap can be credited to that ad. | 90 days |
| _gcl_gb, _gcl_ag | Cookie | Other forms of the Google ad click identifier (wbraid and gbraid), used for the same purpose. | 90 days |
| _gcl_gs | Cookie | Details of the Google ad click, including when it happened, used for the same purpose. | 90 days |
| _gcl_ls | Local storage | Information the Google tag keeps in your browser's local storage for the same measurement, including a copy of any ad click details above. | Each item up to 90 days |
While the Google tag runs, your browser sends Google the address and title of the page you are on and the address of the page you came from, the identifiers held above (including the click identifier from our ad, if you arrived through one) and, when you send us an enquiry or tap one of our phone numbers, a note that you did so, which Google calls a conversion. Like any request made over the internet, it also carries your IP address and basic details of your browser and device, such as your screen size. We do not send Google your name, email address, phone number, postcode or anything else you type into our forms.
When the tag contacts Google, your browser may also exchange cookies with Google's own domains, such as google.com, googleadservices.com and doubleclick.net. Those cookies belong to Google, and Google lists them in its cookie reference for its advertising products.
Google receives this information as a separate controller. That means Google decides for itself how to use it, under the Google Privacy Policy, and is responsible for its own use of it. Google says that from August 2026 it uses the IP addresses it receives through tags like ours for ads measurement and ads personalisation in the UK. Our tag tells Google that ad personalisation is switched off.
How Google uses this information: Google's business data responsibility site explains how Google uses information from websites that use its services.
If you click one of our ads but do not agree to advertising cookies, Google still knows about the click, because it happened on Google, but this website does not tell Google Ads what you did next.
4. Third-Party Services
Our enquiry and survey booking forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which tells real visitors apart from automated software so that spam does not reach our inbox. reCAPTCHA runs in the background and most visitors never see anything. To decide whether a submission is genuine it collects hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and sends it to Google for analysis. It may also set a cookie on your device. This is necessary for the forms to work, and your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's privacy policy and terms of service. reCAPTCHA is not one of the choices in our cookie banner: it runs whatever you choose, because the forms rely on it to keep spam out.
If any embedded content from third-party services (such as videos or maps) is displayed on our website, those services may also set their own cookies. We do not control these cookies. Please refer to the relevant third party's cookie policy for more information.
5. Your Cookie Choices
The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you agree to analytics storage and advertising cookies. You can choose Accept All Cookies or Essential Cookies Only, or Cookie Settings to decide on each category separately:
- Necessary: always on. This is only the rr_consent cookie, which remembers your choice.
- Analytics: off unless you switch it on. It lets this website keep a count of your visits (rr_visits), which reaches us only with an enquiry. When you switch it off, the count is deleted. There is no Google Analytics on this website.
- Advertising: off unless you switch it on. It loads the Google tag so that Google Ads can measure which of our adverts lead to enquiries and phone calls (section 3). It does not switch on ad personalisation.
The session record of your visit (rr_journey, section 2) is not one of these choices: it stays on your device and reaches us only if you send us an enquiry.
You can change your mind at any time, and withdrawing your agreement is as easy as giving it. Select Cookie Settings at the bottom of our pages, or the button below, to open your cookie settings again, then choose Essential Cookies Only, or switch a category off and choose Save Settings. We remember your choice for 180 days and then ask you again.
When you switch Advertising off, the Google tag on the page you are on stops sending conversions and stops using its cookies, and the Google Ads cookies this website holds (section 3) are deleted from your browser. Pages of this website you have open in other tabs follow your new choice as soon as you go back to them. On the pages you open after that, the Google tag is not loaded at all. Cookies on Google's own domains belong to Google, and you can remove them in your browser settings (section 6).
Everything on this website works the same whatever you choose.
6. Managing Cookies
The simplest way to change what this website stores is Cookie Settings at the bottom of our pages (section 5). You can also control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Please note that disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of the website.
Instructions for managing cookies in the most common browsers are set out below:
- Google Chrome: Open Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Other Site Data. From here you can block or allow cookies and clear existing cookies.
- Mozilla Firefox: Open Settings, then Privacy and Security. Under the Cookies and Site Data section, you can manage permissions and clear data.
- Safari: Open Preferences, then Privacy. You can block all cookies, manage website data, and remove stored cookies.
- Microsoft Edge: Open Settings, then Cookies and Site Permissions, then Manage and Delete Cookies and Site Data. You can block or allow cookies from here.
Clearing cookies and site data in these settings also removes the information this website keeps in your browser's storage (section 2), any Google Ads cookies (section 3) and the cookie that remembers your choice, so the banner will ask you again on your next visit.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this cookie policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
