About Braintree
Braintree is a market town in north Essex with a population of around 43,000. It sits roughly 46 miles northeast of London on the River Brain, close to the A120 and A131 roads. The town has a rich textile heritage - George Courtauld established a silk mill here in the 19th century, and the Warner Textile Archive holds one of the largest public textile collections in the country. Braintree Freeport shopping village and the town centre high street provide a broad mix of retail and dining options.
Two railway stations, Braintree and Braintree Freeport, connect the town to Witham and onward to London Liverpool Street via Greater Anglia services. Housing across the town includes Victorian terraces near the centre, post-war estates and newer family developments on the outskirts, many with private driveways and garages well suited to roller door installations.
