1. Introduction

RollRite Garage Doors ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who interact with our business. This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to that data.

This policy applies to all personal data collected through our website at rollritegaragedoors.co.uk, by telephone, by email, and during on-site surveys and installations.

RollRite Garage Doors is the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Our contact details are set out in section 12 below.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect and process the following personal data:

• Your name
• Email address
• Telephone number
• Property address (for surveys, quotes and installations)
• Details of your enquiry, including garage dimensions and requirements
• Payment information (processed securely and not stored by us)
• Any other information you provide to us voluntarily

We collect this information when you:

• Submit a contact form or enquiry form on our website
• Book a Free Survey
• Telephone us or send us an email
• Place an order for a garage door
• Communicate with us during installation or aftercare

3. Information About Your Visit

When you send us an enquiry through a form on this website, we also receive a record of your visit: the page you arrived on and the address of the site that sent you to us (for example a search engine), any campaign tags in the link you followed, the pages you viewed on our site in that browsing session and roughly how long you spent on each, the type of device and browser you used, and your preferred language and time zone. If you have switched on Analytics in our cookie banner, it also says how many times you have visited our website and the dates of your first and most recent visits. This record is built in your own browser while you browse and is only sent to us together with your enquiry, along with the internet address (IP address) your enquiry came from.

We use it to understand which pages and searches lead people to ask us for a survey, so that we can improve the website, and to check that an enquiry is genuine. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running and improving our business, except for the count of your visits, which we keep only with your consent. The record is kept with your enquiry and deleted on the same timescale as the enquiry itself (see section 7, Data Retention).

We may also estimate the search term you used to find us, based on aggregate statistics Google provides about searches that reach each page of our site. This is an estimate for our own records, not a record of your search, and it is never shared with anyone outside RollRite and the agency that runs our website for us.

When you tap or click one of our phone numbers, your browser also sends us an anonymous count of that tap: the page you were on, where on the page the number was, whether you were using a phone, tablet or computer, and the website that sent you to that page. We do not keep your IP address or any identifier with it, no cookie is used and nothing is stored on your device. We have counted taps this way since 13 October 2026 to see which pages lead people to call us.

If you agree to advertising cookies in our cookie banner, our website also loads the Google tag, so that Google Ads can show us which of our adverts lead to enquiries and phone calls. Our tag tells Google that ad personalisation is switched off, and Google says that with this setting its remarketing and personalised advertising features receive no data. Google then receives the address and title of each page you view and the page you came from, the click identifier from our advert if you arrived through one, the identifiers held in Google's advertising cookies, a note when you send us an enquiry or tap one of our phone numbers, and your IP address and basic details of your browser and device. We never send Google your name, your contact details or anything else you type into our forms, and Google Ads reports to us in totals, such as how many enquiries each advert led to, without telling us who you are. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (see section 5). If you do not agree, none of this is sent to Google. The cookies involved are listed in our Cookie Policy (see section 9).

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

• To respond to your enquiries and provide information about our products and services
• To arrange and carry out free on-site surveys
• To prepare and send quotations
• To process orders and arrange installation dates
• To carry out the installation of your garage door
• To send aftercare information and warranty documentation
• To contact you regarding servicing or follow-up if required
• To measure which of our Google adverts lead to enquiries and phone calls, if you agree to advertising cookies (see section 3)
• To comply with legal and regulatory obligations

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:

• Contract performance: where processing is necessary to fulfil a contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, such as providing a quote or arranging a survey.
• Legitimate interests: where processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests, such as responding to enquiries, improving our services, and maintaining customer records. We ensure that these interests do not override your rights and freedoms.
• Consent: where you agree in our cookie banner to advertising cookies or to analytics storage, we rely on your consent for Google Ads measurement and for keeping a count of your visits. You can withdraw it at any time with the Cookie Settings button at the bottom of our pages; this does not affect anything that took place before you withdrew it.
• Legal obligation: where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, such as maintaining financial records for tax purposes.

6. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

We may share your personal data with:

• Installers or subcontractors who assist with the delivery and installation of your garage door, but only to the extent necessary to carry out the work
• Our accountants, legal advisors, or other professional service providers where necessary for the operation of our business
• The agency that builds and maintains our website, which receives a copy of each enquiry in order to run the website and the enquiry system for us
• Brevo, the email service that delivers each enquiry to us and, when you use our cost calculator, sends you a copy of your enquiry
• Google, if you agree to advertising cookies, which receives the information described in section 3 as a separate controller: Google decides for itself how it uses that information, under its own privacy policy, and explains how it uses information from websites that use its services on its business data responsibility site
• Law enforcement or regulatory bodies where we are required to do so by law

Where we share data with third parties, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy. In general:

• Enquiry data (where no order is placed) is retained for up to 24 months, after which it is securely deleted.
• Customer data (where an order is placed) is retained for up to 7 years after the completion of the contract to comply with our legal and warranty obligations.
• Financial records are retained for the period required by HMRC, typically 6 years.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

• Right of access: you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification: you can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure: you can ask us to delete your personal data in certain circumstances.
• Right to restrict processing: you can ask us to limit how we use your data.
• Right to data portability: you can request that we transfer your data to another organisation in a structured, commonly used format.
• Right to object: you can object to our processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Cookies

Our website sets one cookie of its own, which remembers the choices you make in our cookie banner, and it does not use Google Analytics. It keeps the record of your visit described in section 3 in your browser's own storage, along with a count of your visits if you switch on Analytics. If you agree to advertising cookies, Google Ads sets its own cookies to measure our adverts. Whatever you choose, the Google reCAPTCHA check that protects our forms may set its own cookie. Our website may contain links to external websites operated by third parties. We have no control over the content or privacy practices of those websites and accept no responsibility for them. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any website you visit.
