About Loughton
Loughton is a town in south-west Essex, situated around 13 miles north-east of central London within the Epping Forest district. The town has a population of approximately 33,000, making it the largest settlement in the district. Loughton sits inside the M25 motorway but just outside the Greater London boundary. Around 1,500 acres of Epping Forest surround the town, giving it a green and wooded character despite its proximity to the capital. The High Road offers a range of independent shops, cafes and services.
Two Central line stations - Loughton and Debden - provide direct Underground access to central London. The M11 motorway is close by for road connections north and south. Housing includes Victorian and Edwardian properties, 1930s family homes and post-war estates, many with private driveways and garages suited to roller door installations.
